About Us

What We Do:

Midwest Renewable Capital (MRC) is a Community Development Entity (CDE) that provides below market rate debt and equity capital to businesses and projects in need of financing in the range of $500,000 to $20,000,000+ that are under-served by traditional sources of capital. We focus on partnering private capital with state and federal economic initiatives in order to bring businesses, technologies, and jobs to communities that need them the most.

Investment Focus

MRC seeks companies or projects that strive to positively impact their local community through job growth, environmental benefits, and community impacts. Our approach focuses on working with companies to seek triple bottom line impacts that propel business growth and positive environmental, social and financial impacts in the community.

Community Development Entity (CDE):

MRC is a certified CDE allowing it to raise private funds through public-private partnership programs with state and federal economic development organizations to invest in states, communities, and rural areas under-served by traditional sources of risk capital. The most impactful of these programs is the federal New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) program. The New Markets Tax Credit program provides tax credits for private-sector investment in economically distressed communities through certified CDEs.

MRC is currently accepting project proposals from businesses seeking capital. If you have a business or project that needs funding, tell us about it by clicking the Apply for Financing button in the top, right corner of your screen. All submissions are kept strictly confidential.

Strategic Partners

MRC works with businesses, entrepreneurs and developers. Our team has over fifty years of combined economic development financing experience.

We have relationships with state Economic Development and Commerce Departments, USDA Rural Development Offices, Small Business Investment Companies, and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) located across the country. We receive capital requests from these sources and assist developers and business through our contacts. These relationships are a critical piece in allowing us to get capital to the projects and communities that can benefit the most.

We would like to work with your business. Contact us by emailing us below and we will get back in touch with you soon. If you have a business or project that needs capital, click on the Get Business Financing tab and read more. All submissions are kept strictly confidential.
